Panasonic TH 65PZ850U – 65″ VIERA plasma TV – widescreen – 1080p (FullHD) – HDTV Review

I purchased this 65 inch panasonic tv about a month ago. I am more than pleased. It has the best picture that I have ever seen on a tv. If you really want the experience of the movie theater at home then this is the way to go. The installation was simple(takes two strong people to lift it). The operation of the tv and remote was very easy. I have to say that I really enjoy this tv.
Panasonic TH 65PZ850U – 65″ VIERA plasma TV – widescreen – 1080p (FullHD) – HDTV Overview
Panasonic?s VIERA full HD 1080p PZ850 series previewed the industry?s first IP enabled television. The introduction of the IP enabled televisions, a technology that provides access to on-line content directly from the television with VIERA CAST technology, is one of many advances found in the PZ850 line.Recognizing the growing use of Plasma HD televisions in the gaming world, Panasonic created the Game Mode, which minimizes the time lag when displaying game images on the Plasma screen. The Mode synchronizes the response of the game image to the player?s operation, thereby producing an extremely clear image with no motion artifacts.Digital Cinema Color Re-Mastering is a value added technology that allows for color reproduction, enabling VIERA displays to reproduce the essential colors for viewing movies. 24p native reproduction, which negates the need for 3:2 pulldown, resulting in a smoother picture, is another feature that provides the best possible viewing experience.

Great picture, screen size and value – Roostah – AZ
I have owned the 65″ Panasonic for 6 months. The picture from any source is excellent! It is wall mounted and looks great.
Anyone who rates it one star is nothing more than a troll.
Panasonic 65 inch Plasma does not include pedestal!!!! – Jingsheng Zheng – Voorhees NJ
There is no pedestal. There is no mention in the ad that this item doesnot include pedestal. I checked aroud. Average price is 0-1000. The worse part is that no one has the pedestal. It is back order for 1 month. 65 inch TV is lying on the floor!!!!!!!!! And waiting for the pedestal!!!!!!!!!

Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ80U 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV Review

I bought this TV last spring and paid 00, something I’d said I’d never do. Brought it home and set it up and was a little stunned to find out that I needed to upgrade my DirectTV receiver to HD. After all was said and done, it truly is the best thing I’ve ever purchased. I talked to 2 different salesmen from 2 different major dept. store chains when I was looking. I was set on the LCD from what I had heard. After the “spiel”, I asked both salesmen what they owned and they both said “plasma”. They explained some stuff about the rate of speed that is captured with the plasma and that they both notice the LCD streaking at times of high action in sporting events. They also did warn me about reflection issues with the plasma and they were right. I have a window at the back of the room on the south side of the house and when the sun shines in, I have to shut the curtains. If I look close (really, really close), I can see the lights in the room reflect off the glass like screen, but the outstanding picture and contrast make it a non-issue for me. I used to occasionally check in to catch the scores of the MN Twins games with my 34 inch Toshiba, now I look forward to coming home and watching the entire games. I’m still paying off the credit card, but haven’t sent in a payment yet that hasn’t brought satisfaction to mind. I’m salivating waiting for Football season! It’s really a great TV….

The incredible black reproduction of a Panasonic High-Definition Plasma TV results in impressive contrast and beautiful, natural colors. So you’ll get warm, accurate skin tones, gorgeous greens, breathtaking blues and vivid reds. For color that’s as rich and bold as life itself, look to a Panasonic Plasma TV.

With over 900 lines of moving picture, self-illuminating plasma displays eliminate afterimages in fast-action scenes. So whether you’re watching a sporting event or an action-packed movie, you’ll always get the most impressive viewing experience possible. |
1,000,000:1 Contrast
 |
The Panasonic’s Real Black system (a pre-discharge suppression system) and improved panel production processes combine to reproduce outstanding blacks with superb contrast. Each image is richly expressive, from bright scense, like scorching desert landscapes, to dark cave scenes. Compare the image produced by conventional HDTV on the left to the Real Black image produced on the right

More Colors
 |
Viera HDTVs support the xvYCC color profile (Extended YCC Colorimetry for Video Applications), or “x.v. color” for short. Standard RGB color space allows the display of a portion of the colors that are viewable to the human eye. The next generation “xvYCC” color space actually offers an available range of colors that exceeds what human eyes can recognize.
- Next-generation “xvYCC” color space supports 1.8 times as many colors as existing HDTV signals
- Lets HDTVs display colors more accurately
- Enables displays with more natural and vivid colors
|
Deep Color
 |
Where x.v. color expands the available range of colors your HDTV can display, Deep Color increases the number of colors your HDTV can display within that range, for smoother transitions from color to color.
- Lets HDTVs and other displays go from millions of colors to billions of colors
- Eliminates on-screen color banding, for smooth tonal transitions and subtle gradations between colors
- Enables increased contrast ratio
- Can represent many times more shades of gray between black and white.

Connectivity
Viera flat panel HDTVs interact with an array of high-definition devices and services, making it easy for consumers to access and enjoy content as never before. As of 2008, Viera Link is compatible with Onkyo and Yamaha home theater systems.
| Videos and stills recorded on SD cards can easily be viewed via the SD slots on Panasonic Blu-Ray Disc players and Viera HDTVs. |
Viera Link means easy connectivity via HDMI cables. Finally, consumers can easily operate their Blu-Ray Disc players, DVD recorders and home theater systems with a single remote control device. |
 |
 |
|
|
| 4 HDMI inputs to connect all of your devices directly to your television. |

|
Long Life
 |
Panasonic plasma panels are rated to last 100,000 hours, which is about 30 years of regular or 11 years of non-stop usage before the brightness of the display is halved. |
Get Full HD with Blu-Ray Disc Players
 |
A Panasonic 1080p plasma television is able to render 1920×1080 pixels, but standard DVDs have a resolution of just 720×480. Blu-ray discs output true 1080p High-Definition resolution and have a storage capacity ten times greater than standard DVDs, so no pixel gos to waste. |

Bad luck, perhaps? – Gregory Eller – Pevely, MO USA
I decided to purchase this set after having read all the positive reviews on it. However, I did not take into consideration that most reviews are written just a short time after a purchase. This was a big mistake on my part. I purchased my tv in November, 2008. Yes, the picture is amazing. However, only 14 months later, and conveniently, 2 months out of warranty, the power panel failed. The cost to replace it is 00. Needless to say, after only 14 months, the tv is now garbage. There is absolutely no point in paying 00 to repair something that cost 00. After having done some thorough research, I learned that certain Panasonics made during a certain time had some bad parts in them. Had I known this before hand, I never would have bought this tv. My only suggestion is to really do your homework before making any purchase, especially buying a new tv.
